Hungry? Why Not Burgers? !

KFC

IT's been quite a busy week so far aka projects and upcoming finals! So this week on Why Not Burger, will introduce you with a signature burger from KFC. As I realise and know that KFC is renounced for delicious fried chicken and of course the signature menu, where I think it is everyone's favourite, which is WingZap! But as I can notice that not many people eat KFC burger much so yes Im gonna review on that.

Zinger burger is the best well-known burger from KFC Thailand. The burger, of course, has KFC's fried chicken. I have to say that the fried chick, the piece is huge, bigger than the size of the bun. However, this menu is not that special compared to what I have reviewed on the previous posts because this burger has only four ingredients: a piece of fried chicken, cream, lettuce and bun.

Since the portion of lettuce is quite a lot, I was glad that it could make me feel a little healthier haha. Anyway, the chicken was crispy like if I order plain fried chicken from KFC. However, it was oily a bit and I think it's normal because IT IS FRIED CHICKEN... I cannot expect it to be oil-free fried chicken haha.  This burger was only 62 baht which quite surprised me. But if you get the price and compared with the ingredients they put in, it is worth the price I guess.

It is obvious that the chicken is huge comparing to the bun.

Overall, I would give this menu 2.5 out of 5. Since, in my opinion, this menu is like a rush meal if you get what I mean? You can't expect much for the menu as in this price, 62 baht. Also, I think I was fine with the taste but personally I prefer McDonald's Signature Collection better.

Dean and Deluca

*Due to my reckless and technical difficulties, most of my burger photos are all gone. Therefore, this post will contain pictures from other sites (Which I'll put credit below each picture. No credit means my picture). Sorry in advance*

           -------------

Hello everyone! and welcome back to Why Not Burger! I feel like a couple weeks ago, I reviewed burgers from fast food chains but this week is not gonna be burger from a fast food chain. Dean and Deluca is a restaurant that has branches around Bangkok such as The Crystal, Emquatier and Mahanakorn Cube. Dean and Deluca has its signature burger menu which is The Dean Burger. It is consisted of a pretty thick beef patty, bacon, cheese, tomato, green and special sauce.

As you see from the picture above, first of all, the beef patty is soooooo thick right?!! The taste of it was good if you as me. Second of all, look at the cheese! there was so much cheese and so much fat at the same time...yep. I gotta say that this menu is the juiciest compared to other reviews. It was so tender and juicy and delicious!. Moreover, this menu is served with fries with paprika on top. Personally, I prefer fries with paorika or cheese powder since it gives more taste than normal fries, of course.

This menu was 550 baht altogether with water, VAT and service charge. For me it was pricy but trust me the taste was good and I was really satisfied with it. Overall, I'd give 4 out of 5 since the price was quite high comparing to other burgers I've reviewed. However, with the size, portion and the taste, it was really a YES for me.

Signature Collection by McDonald's#2

Last week on Why Not Burger, I reviewed about the Signature Collection by McDonald's which was Pork kurobuta namtok. Let me recap a little bit from last week, I didn't eat it at McDonald's so as a takeaway, the burger was put it in a box which normally McDonald's burgers are wrapped with paper. Anyway, this week is going to be another menu from the Signature Collection, Angus Beef burger. As you can see from the picture above, the burger is served with wooden tray if you're eating at McDonald's.

The set cost 209 baht which it is served with fries and your choice of soft drink which I chose Coke Zero( still a little bit healthy I guess haha). Moreover, you can add-on your burger with bacon (+10 baht) and cheese (+40 baht). The staff told me that if you put add-on, you'd get 10% off. So I decided to add bacon. Therefore, this cost me only 202 baht. Oh and yes, the staff also told me that "You can refill the drink anytime."

Can you see the bacon? Mmmm
Burger: Angus Beef burger is consisted of beef patty, cheese, bacon(add-on), tomato, lettuce and cream. Overall with the taste, I was quite impressed and definitely prefer this menu than the first one I reviewed. The beef patty was a little salty and with my bacon add-on, it was more salty. However, that wouldn't bother me thank to the cream they put  because it helped balance the taste.
The size is obviously bigger, like the pork kurobuta, than the ordinary menus.
For the ingredients, personally I think it was quite fresh because the lettuce was crispy if you ask me.

Overall, I would give this menu 4 out of 5 because the taste was really good and the way they served this burger, putting it on the wooden tray which made me feel like I wasn't eating burgers from McDonald's where the burgers are wrapped with paper etc. However, I would give this menu 4.5-5 but it took me so long to get my burger. So, minus the service. But it might be varied or other branches.

Signature Collection by McDonald's #1

Welcome back on Why Not Burger! This week, I’m going to introduce you with burger from McDonald’s. It’s not going to be McMuffin or ordinary McDonald’s burgers but The Signature Collection. I will divide into parts but this week will be Kurobuta Namtok Burger.

As you can see that, the pakaging is different from ordinary burger menus. For The Signature Collection, your burger will be served in a box like the picture above. Let me clear this out first that this menu is 100% Thai flavour. What I mean by Thai Flavour is that the menu is adapted from Namtok, the flavour will be spicy and sour. So if you’re not a fan of eating spicy food, then this menu might not suit you. Trust me, it is really spicy even though I love to eat spicy food but this was too hot.

In side the burger consisted of a huge piece of kurobuta pork, green and namtok sauce. For the Signature Menu, the pork patty will be much bigger than the ordinary menus as well as the bun. Also, if you notice carefully, the patty is as thick as the bun which means the size of the patty is much bigger than the ordinary ones. The taste, I think, it is similar to Nam tok rice that McDonald's also offer in the rice menus but this comes in a burger form.

Over all I would give menu 3 out of 5 because first of all the taste is too spicy. Morover, the pork was a little bit overcooked which me it is not soft for me. But overall, the portion and the size, I think it is worth my money comparing to the other menus. For Kurobuta Namtok Burger is only 129 baht ( single not as a set)

Mos Burger

jejakrasa.com

Welcome back burger eaters readers! This week on Why Not Burger will introduce you with Mos Burger! In Thailand, Mos Burger is well known for best Japanese style burgers. And of course, its origin is from Japan! Thailand has only four branches of Mos Burger: Central World, Paragon, Future Park Rangsit and Terminal 21, which is really disappointed me because if I crave Mos Burger, I need to go into the city and dang TRAFFICS. Typical Bangkok! Anyway, I went to Central World branch and it took me quite awhile to decide what should I order. I don't have favourite burger from Mos Burger yet since it is such a rare occasion for me to eat burgers from Mos Burger( because it's quite far from my house). I quickly skimmed and scanned the big menu board in front of the store and my eyes were on Pork Cutlet Burger.

Pork Cutlet Burger is tongkutsu pork filled with Japanese barbecue sauce and sliced lettuce on top served with soft bun. Pork Cutlet Burger is 99 baht a piece but if you want it as a set menu, the price will be varied depending on what side you want. I chose french fries and onion ring with coke and it cost 69 baht more. Moreover, this menu is in the recommended menu which ensured me that this menu is gonna be good. I trusted you Mos Burger!

The menu didn't disappoint me at all even though the burger consisted of only bun, pork and lettuce but trust me, the test was great. The pork was crispy and the smell of the sauce made me feel like I was eating the actual dish of pork tongkutsu with rice. I am sure that if you are the big fan of tongkutsu, you better try this. Overall I would give 5 out of 5 since Mos Burger used fresh ingredient and the taste really impressed me.

Rest'er Day

This week on Why Not Burger, I'm going to review a restaurant, of course it's gotta have burgers!, near Thammasat University Rungsit Campus. The restaurant is called Rest'er Day and it is opposite of the University. I went to Rest'er Day with my friends. They told me about this restaurant and I just knew about it even though I am a Thammasat uni student for almost two years.... Anyway, I decided to order Double Fish burger and let say, it was worth my money since the portion of the food was huge. The dish is 189 baht and it was served with fries, not ordinary fries but fries with spice and it was sooooooo goooooooooood.

When the burger was served, I was so shocked with the size of the dish and really impressed with the price because it is on the budget and cheap comparing to those burger restaurants in Bangkok which one dish of burger could cost about 300-500 baht. By the way, the burger consisted of two large pieces of crispy fried fish, cheese, green and homemade sauce. The bun here was soft and coated with butter.

The fish was soft but the outer coat was not really crispy. Moreover, in my opinion, I felt the fish was greasy maybe because it was oily. The homemade sauce was good and it went well with all the ingredients. Overall I would give it 3.5 out of 5 because well the size was really worth my money but I didn't finish it since I felt greasy.

If you are interested in coming to Rest'er Day, they offer you plenty space of parking. Moreover, not only they have burgers but also steaks and spaghetti. The service here was nice and staffs were all friendly.

McDonald's McMuffin

This week on Why Not Burgers, I am going to review burgers from McDonald's Thailand. BUT WAIT! It's not ordinary McDonald's burgers, it is McDonald's breakfast burger muffins. The breakfast burgers are not available all day but only in the very early morning till 11am.  Not only they have muffin burgers but also porridge for the breakfast menu. Anyway, I picked up 2 menus to review for you.
When I order McMuffin, I always choose Pepper Chicken McMuffin since it is my fave. Therefore one of the menus is Pepper Chicken and another one is Double Sausage McMuffin.

Inside of Pepper Chicken, there are cheese, cream and pepper chicken. The size of it isn't big at all and if you're really hungry in the morning, I recommend you to order two. Personally, I like the chicken since the taste is really satisfied my appetite but on the down side, it is quite dry compare to the Double Sausage. For Double Sausage, it is consisted of egg, 2 pieces of pork sausage and cheese. The pork was juicy and I liked it since I don't like something that dry. However,  I think the pork had smell maybe because of the spice they put in. For the egg, I am not a fan of McDonald's egg since it is overcooked. But it doesn't mean I didn't eat it lol Anyway,  the consistency went well together.

(Left) Pepper Chicken (Right) Double Sausage

The muffin bun might be hard as stone and chewy as gum if you're not eating it right after you get the food. Therefore, you better eat it after buying it. For Chicken Pepper, it is only 58 baht but 115 baht for a set, served with hash brown and coffee. And Double Sausage is 125 baht but 177 baht for a set with hash brown and coffee.

Overall, I would give 3.5 of 5 for Pepper Chicken and 4 out of 5 for Double Sausage.
If you are interested in eating McMuffin, please wake up before 11 am otherwise you need to wait for the next day.
